St Thomas Anglican Church

New Dates For Our MAPP Book Club

As a part of the MAPP process for the Diocese Saint Thomas, in conjunction with Saint Mary’s South Hill, will be forming a book study group.  The group will read and discuss Diana Butler Bass‘ book Christianity For The Rest Of Us.  Much is said and written today regarding the emerging church. In Christianity For The Rest Of Us, Diana Butler Bass shares stories from mainline Protestant congregations experiencing renewal and transformation through re-connection with historic Christian practices. In reality, she debunks the myth that only fundamental conservative congregations transform lives.

The group will use this book as a launching pad into a wider discussion about our church and where and how we think it should grow and flourish.  The new dates for the group discussions are: Tuesday, June 14, at 7PM, Tuesday, June 28 at 7PM and Tuesday, July 12 at 7PM.  All meetings will be held in the Lower Church Hall.  The books are now here, so if you would like  copy just please ask Patrick.  We hope you can join us in these interesting and important discussions.
