Steven Black

Stephen is married with two grown children (and two cats and a dog). Before his academic work, Dr. Black studied, wrote, and performed music. Musical composition remains an enjoyed hobby. He has a special love for Mahler and the Grateful Dead.

Dr. Black started his formal theological education in 2001, and received two Masters degrees from the Vancouver School of Theology. In 2012, he obtained his doctorate in Biblical Studies from the University of St. Michael’s College in Toronto, Canada.

 

Dr. Black has been teaching since 2005, and has taught a wide range of courses pertaining to the Biblical Studies.

 

Dr. Black believes it is crucial for all Christians to be empowered by the Spirit, so we can be engaged citizens and community builders.
