Tuesday, 6pm potluck, 7pm discussion

Walk down many streets in the Lower Mainland and you will see evidence of a diversity of faith communities. We encounter the people of faith from these communities in our
neighbourhoods, workplaces, schools, supermarkets, community centres, and stadiums. What do they believe? How have we got on in the past and how do we relate to each other now? How might these relationships be deeper and contribute more to the wellbeing of our communities? These are some of the questions we will be asking in this study.
Join us in person at St. Thomas Anglican Church at 2444 E 41st Avenue, Vancouver, V5R 2W4, or via Zoom at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84503253045. We will meet at the church at 6pm each night for a potluck dinner. The discussion will start at 7pm. Phone us at (604) 434-6111 for more information.
September 6 Mandate and Mission
What are the key indicators Jesus gave us about relating to people of other faiths? What has
been the tone of these relationships in the past? How did we go from being the victims to being the aggressor? What does this tell us about how we might approach people of other faiths today?
15th September Other Faiths
When did the major world religions emerge? What are their essential beliefs and practices?
What do we get wrong about them? How do they see us?
22nd September Interfaith Dialogue
‘Interfaith Dialogue’ has developed as a way of thinking about how we relate to people of other faiths. What are the different kinds of interfaith dialogue? What are some examples of these in action? How might we engage in these ourselves?
29th September The Interfaith/Earth Care Interface
How do different faith traditions view their responsibility to the natural environment? Why is
there a gap between what we believe and what we do? How might we bridge this gap in our life as a Christian community and with our wider community?
6th October Inter Faith Conversations
We’ve talked about people of other faiths, now let’s talk with people of other faiths. We will
invite some representatives of other faith traditions to join us for a discussion around a number of topics.
