Jones Park Event

St. Thomas' participated in the Victoria Drive Business Improvement Association's Jones' Park Community engagement event (Saturday, July 27th).

There were many folks who dropped by our tent and many asked about our Sunday School program. Somehow news about our Superintendent, Kristine's, program for children is out there. Church school starts up in mid- September.

We had two winning poetry submissions for our little contest. Here are the winners:

Adult division from James

No lack or want in this oasis of being together,

Up and above, a baby blue dome like gossamer

contains us together,

Down beneath our feet green and brown grass living

and dying together

Within a rectangle ring we mingle and sing

Guarded by sentinel trees standing in refuge and shade

of a mercy together.

Today is a sunny day

It is fun to play

We all came to Jones' Park

And all people come with their own spark

We make new friends

and play hard with them!
