Mapping the ground we stand on workshop

Saturday, November 14, 2026 from 10am to 12pm

Location: St Johns Shaughnessy

We have an opportunity to take a step in the direction of reconciliation by taking part in an engaging and informative workshop developed and presented by Alongside Hope.

We'll learn about the First Peoples and the waves of settlers in recent centuries, explore why elary European explorers called Canada an empty land ("terra nullius") and consider what that means today. We'll watch excerpts for the Anglican Church of Canada's "Doctrine of Discovery" and hear Indigenous voices. Please come to share, learn, be challenged and be engaged. More details are attached. This is also a fine opportunity to make connections with others from different parishes in our Diocese.

Registration is required and can be done online, for further information please contact Cheryl or the church office.
