It has been several months since some of us gathered at Holy Cross parish and put our hands and minds to work to make felted hearts to remember the children who did not return home from Canada’s Indian Residential Schools.
Kerry Baisley, Diocesan Indigenous Justice Missioner, is planning a public gathering to acknowledge the work on Saturday, September 10 at the Synod Office/St John’s Shaughnessy grounds, where the hearts will be installed as part of a permanent memorial. Activities are being planned over a five to six hour period so people can come for some or all of the event.
